Find out Why Busiest Baltimore Bridge collapse so quickly?
The incident of the week is the Baltimore Bridge which has collapsed after a ship cargo hit it. As the incident has occurred, we will explore on the reason while USA most busiet brigde had collapsed so easily.
In the death toll of the event, as of the time of this post, it has risen to 6 construction workers and the USA Coast Guard are on a rescue mission to recover people and properties casualty pf the event.
The Francis Scott Key Bridge fell completely down of March 26 after a cargo ship crashed to the bridge which collapsed immediately into the Patapsco River upon impact.
We can say that one of the reason why this bridge collapsed immediately and easily was because of how the brigde is being used with it being the busiest bridge in the country. As per records, the Baltimore Port last year in terms of cargo hit a record high for receiving 11.6 million tons of general cargo.
We can say that the brigde has a huge increase in work but was not rebuild or developed to withstand and impact like this as it was built as a ‘continuous truss bridge’ which is made out of long steel truss which goes across the three main spans, rather than having connections on the piers.
