It all started with a rape and kidnapping of a pregnant white woman name was, June Walters on February 23 1959 on a diet road called Black Creek Ford Raod according to June and the next day February 24th, Mack Parker was arrested in Pearl River County, Mississippi.

The incident had occurred at U. S. Route 11, approximately seven miles south of Lumberton, Mississippi State where she and her child were waiting alone in a car while her husband, Jimmy sought help for repairs of the car, still according to June Walters.

Mack Parker on the other hand denied to have raped anyone before he was kidnapped, manhandled and killed by a white mob 2 days later.

While exploring on the accusation, Parker’s friends and supporters said that the accusation of Parker for rape was fabricated by the alleged victim as a means of concealing an ongoing consensual affair with a local white man. And also reports published in the New Orleans Times-Picayune, four friends of Parker Norman Malachy, David Alfred, Curt Underwood and Tommy Grant were returning to Lumberton from Poplarville along with Parker after visiting Slim’s, an illegal bar which was operated under the protection of the Poplarville City Police.

Slim’s was known for selling white lightning moonshine and the report went further to say that the 5 men reached Lumberton where they spotted a vehicle precisely a Dodge sedan that broke down on the side of the road and the group thought the car was abandoned but after Parker flashed light, they saw a white woman in the car and Parker returned to his brother’s Chevy sedan and left.

Afterwards, Parker allegedly turned to his friends and said, “Why don’t we stop and get some o’ that white stuff?” and they told him that he was crazy, telling him to take then home.

Now, statement from the police and the events description according to Parker’s brother in-law says that before Walters husband could return to his vehicle, Parker allegedly returned, kidnapped June Walters and her four-year-old daughter, Debbie, at gunpoint and took them to Black Creek Ford Road, where he raped Mrs Walters.

Parker’s arrest on February 24 was basically from a Intel given to the police by David Alfred’s father, a local Baptist minister, and this was after many investment, so that was how the police arrested Parker at approximately 10 a.m at his home in Lumberton City Marshal Ham Slade.

Parker was beaten and she screams loudly which was heard several houses away and he denied the rape charge although in a line-up at the Lumberton City Jail, the victim identified Parker as the proprietor and tire tracks of the car matched Parker’s Chevrolet, but he still denied raping anyone.

Also, fingerprints of Parker never implicate Parker and after being arrested, for his own protection, Lumberton Police had the Mississippi Highway Patrol transfer Parker to the Hinds County Jail in Jackson and there he was subjected to several lie detector tests which returns that he was telling the truth and no hand gun was found on Parker or by the cops.

Parker was locked up and was indicted by a Pearl River County grand jury, on one count of rape and two counts of kidnapping on April 16 and the case was set on April 27th.

To the charges against Parker’s he pleaded not guilty and was represented by attorney and civil rights activist, R. Jess Brown of Vicksburg.

Parker was returned to his cell awaiting the judge dale Judgement in ten days but 3 days to the trial, Parker was kidnapped from his jail cell in the Pearl River County Courthouse by a white mob, beaten and shot.

The FBI stated that the mob drove Parker in the car into Louisiana, and waited till the road was free and there drove to the center of the bridge, pulled Parker out of the car, shot him twice in the chest from a range of approximately six inches where parker died within seconds.

According to the FBI who sent over 60 of it’s grants to town after the death of Parker, the FBI stated after their investment that the plan of the mob were to hang Parker from the superstructure of the Pearl River Bridge but Parker was already dead and in hurt before they are seen, they proceeded to weight his body down with logging chains which were produced from the trunk of one of the cars.

The chains secured around Parker’s body and tossed over the concrete railings of the bridge into River below and his body was found 10 days later in the Pearl River, 20 miles west of Poplarville following investigation of FBI.

The FBI stated that the mob including J. P. Walker, a former deputy sheriff, and Jewell Alford, the jailer, who provided the keys.

It should still be noted that, information from the community suggested that the victim, June Walters fabricated the rape claims to hide her consensual affair with a white man in a nearby town and till date, the police officers garnered no conclusive evidence implicating Mr. Parker.
